Paint Banding stripes tram line problems faults

This section covers Banding stripes in panel and tram lines. To Repair apply another coat, observing below.

Cause
1 Poor overlap of gun on each pass.
2 Gun too near panel.
3 Thinner too slow.
4 Gun not held at right angles to panel.

Prevention
1 Overlap each pass of gun by 50 per cent.
2 Hold gun 150-250 mm (6-10 in) from panel.
3 Use suitable thinner, i.e. faster.
4 Hold gun at right angles to panel. Special care on bonnet, roof etc.
