History

Westfield Sportscars Ltd. is a British sports car and kit car manufacturer .Sports cars have been developed and sold by the company since 1983
The Westfield marque has gained an enviable reputation for superb handling cars.particularly based on the design of the Lotus 7 .

The Westfield ZEi is a low volume facory built car with its roots firmly in the days of the great British sports car tradition.In a world dominated by hot hatches and their convertible derivatives the ZEi brings a breath of fresh air to open air motoring.

The unique all - independent suspension set up of the ZEi is fully adjustable, and allied to the complex multi tube spaceframe chassis .
and is both safe and yet possessed with remarkable traction through bends that would have other so called sportscars struggling for adhesion. Braking is taken care of by four wheel disc brakes all round.

Westfield had chosen the new 16 valve, 130 ps, DOHC 1.8 litre power unit Ford Zeta engine.The engine is Ford 1800 Zeta Zetec engine 1796cc with 130 hp at 6,250rpm, 120 lb ft at 4,250 rpm and zero to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds.Environmentally friendly, the engine features fuel injection and catalytic converter and, of course, runs on unleaded fuel.

Each Westfield ZEi is hand built at the factory and is backed which ensures that each car leaving the factory is built to the highest possible standards.being manufactured from composite materials and the chassis is epoxy coated for corrosion resistance.

On the inside, the ZEi features adjustable seats, a complete range of analog instruments as well as luggage space provided by the boot box.
The basic specification includes all the right ingredients that you would expect to find in a car with the sporting pedigree of a Westfield;
Inertia reel seatbelts, electric cooling fan, chrome halogen headlights and of course a leather covered steering wheel with crash pad, two speed wipers, wing mirrors etc.

The ZEi comes in a choice of seven colours with a choice of interiors in either vinyl as standard or leather as an option.

The Westfield XTR2 is an ultralightweight, two-seater sports car manufactured by Westfield Sportscars Limited, of West Midlands, UK. It features a lightweight steel tubular spaceframe chassis, and the 170 hp (127 kW), 1299 cc Suzuki Hayabusa 4-cylinder engine, mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. Performance upgrades are available. However, it lacks a windshield, side doors, roof, and is virtually devoid of interior luxury. As a result of this simplicity, the car only weighs between 410-440 kilograms, depending on configuration. By achieving an extremely high power-to-weight ratio, it has been intended primarily as a car to be used on the race track. However, it is still legal for road use (at least in the UK). The Westfield XTR2 is a member of the Bike Engined Car (BEC) class of vehicle that are becoming very popular at Track Days.

Westfield ceased production of the XTR2 at the end of 2010 to concentrate on their core "7" product, The Westfield XTR4, which offered an Audi 1.8 DOHC Turbo engine, together with various aesthetic and structural differences to accommodate the car rather than bike engine, ceased production some years before.

The XTR2 made a notable appearance on the revamped version of BBC's Top Gear, where it outperformed a Pagani Zonda in a timed lap of a test track. The Zonda was the current track time champion. Although the record has since been surpassed by several expensive sports cars, it was a foreshadowing of a future record lap time by the Ariel Atom, another minimalist sports car to which the XTR2 has often been compared.

Westfield SEiGHT
Chris Smith started Westfield in the UK in 1982, building a one-off Lotus XI replica for a US customer which later went into production as the Westfield XI. Though a Lotus Seven replica followed in 1984, a lawsuit filed by Caterham Cars, which had the rights to the Lotus Seven, forced him to re-style his cars, and by 1988 he'd created the SE and SEi.

In 1991 his models had developed further and the ultimate SE variant was born: the SEiGHT. The chassis for this car was made in square section steel tubing which was heavily triangulated, and it ran high up inside the bodywork as there was no requirement for doors. The V8 was an all-aluminium
Rover, stroked to 238ci (3,900cc) and at first featuring twin SU carbs, though later versions had fuel injection and either 198bhp (148kW) or 273bhp (203kW).Double wishbones suspension front and rear and quick steering made it a driver's machine. The Rover V8 engine powerplant of the SEiGHT ranges from 3.5 litre units originally sourced from the Rover SD1 to bored and stroked 5.2 litre units. There are also 3.9 fuel injected versions, TVR Power engines of 4.2 litres.Westfield ended production of the SEiGHT in December 2010.
