The Rinspeed Bedouin is a 2003 at the Geneva Motor Show concept car of the Swiss company Rinspeed.

History

The Rinspeed Speed-Art (also known as Rinspeed Nissan "Speed-Art”) is a concept vehicle of Zumikon in Switzerland based company Rinspeed High-Tech art with 420 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The car is based on the Nissan 300ZX and was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1992 on the occasion of the anniversary "25 years of Nissan in Switzerland".

In co-operation with Nissan Motor already a month before the car was tested at the Hockenheim ring it had a maximum speed of over 300 km/h. The "Speed-Art", based on Nissan's at the time high-tech 300 ZX twin-turbo production sports car, represents the natural progression of the "art cars” tradition with full body paint graphics. The Speed Art was painted by the Swiss painter Rolf Knie with about 420 horses to meet the motto "art, car and speed" under which the car salon stood that year. In addition, the animals symbolize the standard from 283 hp (208 kW) to 420 hp (310 kW) increased performance of the car.

The first Rinspeed conversion stage involved increasing the engine output of the stock 300 ZX twin-turbo engine from 283 hp (208 kW) to 420 hp (310 kW). In addition to the increase in horsepower the 3.0 litre six-cylinder engine received larger intercooler an adapted modified injection system, a hi-flow exhaust and a more powerful reinforced clutch. In addition, also with larger sports turbo chargers, with controlled boost pressure to 1.5 bar.

Fitted with HKS running gear set 30mm deeper, with shock absorbers that are adjustable to eight positions. In addition to a roll bar, which was installed due to the stronger performance along with brakes and HICAS all-around steering that can be switched on or off as required. Rinspeed 8 and 9x18" Three-piece wheel rims front and rear, fitted with Pirelli P ZERO high performance tires 235/40 R 18 front, and 265/35 R 18 rear.

To mark its 25th anniversary in Switzerland, Nissan Motor (Schweiz) AG and Rinspeed AG will be introducing a very special high-tech sports car at this year's Geneva Motor Show: the 420 hp Rinspeed Nissan 300 ZX "Speed-Art".

The design, fittings and power of this unique car were modified to racing standards by the renowned conversion and tuning specialists, Rinspeed AG of Zumikon. This served as a "moving" canvas for the well-known Swiss artist Rolf Knie. Fascinated by the theme, "art, automobiles and speed" he completed the fastest moving work of art in Switzerland by painting 420 horses directly onto the car bodywork along with specially manufactured Rinspeed side and rear skirts and front and rear spoilers.

Also, in the interior of the car was heavily modified. The company replaced the series seats with A8 leather Recaro sports seats. It also fitted red four-point belts and a red-black leather interior along with safety roll bar for extra protection. The technology in the cockpit of the car was also slightly modified, A Rinspeed sports steering wheel with remote control for the stereo controls including installed Rinspeed boost pressure and exhaust temperature indicators Switchable ABS for both front and rear brakes.

The Rinspeed Splash is a concept vehicle of the Swiss creative firm Rinspeed.

History

The Rinspeed Splash is a concept vehicle of Zumikon based company Rinspeed. The vehicle was developed to mark the company's tenth own concept car and presented at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. The Rinspeed “Splash” with light carbon-composite body with additional buoyancy chambers provide extra lift hydraulic mechanism transforms the sports car into an amphibious hydrofoil vehicle.

The Splash can be transformed into an amphibious vehicle at the touch of a button and delivers it in the water with a curb weight of only 825 kilograms and its 140 hp to a top speed of 80 km / h. On land, the vehicle is a maximum of 200 km / h fast, from the state reached the car in 5.9 seconds, the 100 km / h mark. The low weight is due to the special "skin" of the Splash, which consists to a large extent of lightweight carbon. The turbocharged 750 cc gasoline-powered two-cylinder four-valve engine from Weber Motor with natural-gas configuration.

Use in the water

In the water, the splash is powered by a propeller, which lowers itself from a water depth of 1.1 meters. On water it is capable of reaching a top speed of about 80 km/h (45 knots). This is steered over the steering wheel of the vehicle. From a water depth of 1.3 meters, the car's pilot can also fold two wings out of the sides of the splash to make the car glide over the surface of the water as a hydrofoil, almost sixty centimetres high. The Z-drive is fitted with a conventional 3-bladed propeller and can be lowered with variable positions from the cockpit while the transfer case sends power to the rear wheels and or the propeller and the steering wheel commands the direction. The wings are extended by an electronic hydraulic system, inside the interior is Lightweight with waterproof plastic seats.

The Rinspeed Presto is a concept vehicle of the Swiss creative firm Rinspeed.

History

The Rinspeed Presto is a Pick-up the front roof part folds down behind the loading surface with 420 hp Double turbo engine runs on natural gas, reducing exhaust emissions and fuel consumption.

The unique thing about the Presto is that it can be transformed from a 2.7-meter open two-seater to a 3.6-meter four-seater in just a few seconds at the touch of a button The rear additional space can also be used as a pick-up bed. This is done by an electric motor, which can push the carriage by 746 mm in length over 2 spindle gearboxes made possible by a centrally located electric motor, which stretches the vehicle with two mechanical screw-and-nut gears to its full extended length of 3.74 meters. The precision rollers  disappear like a drawer in the rear of the floor pan the adjustable floor operation safety mechanism also features self-locking safety latches. A color camera integrated into the taillights reveals any potential obstacles to the driver in the rearview mirror. Instead of conventional light signals the Rinspeed Presto has innovative lighting technology with LED lights. During braking the word ‘Stop’ appears on the brake lights, and during turns ‘Turn’ appears. With lights turned on, the taillights the vehicle’s name, ‘Presto’.

Rinspeed Presto

The engine is also innovative: the Presto is equipped with a four-cylinder common-rail turbo diesel engine. The engine runs on a mixture of natural gas and Diesel fuel at a 40 to 60 ratioin dual-fuel configuratio as a priming jet engine with combined natural gas diesel operation Natural gas is injected into the intake air of the engine. It is based on a Mercedes-Benz 1.7-liter engine and has been modified accordingly with the  installation of a tank for the natural gas and a gas-injection system.

Fuel consumption and pollutant emissions are well below the production engine. Despite the very environmentally friendly principle of the engines four-valves develops a power output of 120 hp / at 4’200 rpm, and produces maximum torque of 224 Nm at only 1600 rpm it brings a power of 88 kW, which accelerates the car in 10.5 seconds to 100 km / h and gives it a top speed of 180 km / h.
