The company soon found that it could not exist on one expensive model, so they brought out a smaller six of 18 hp in 1922, and followed this
with a 14 hp four in 1923. The 4/14 hp was the smallest model of the manufacturer until the end of the 1920s.

This had a top-mounted overhead valves; four cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 1852 cc (bore × stroke = 76.2 mm × 101.6 mm). The performance is max power, 35 bhp at 3500 rpm. The maximum speed is given as ax speed' approx 50 mph/80 kmh. Like the 30 hp and the 18 hp, the 4/14 hp also had two rigid axles.track, front and rear. 56 in (142 cm).

Suspension: non-independent; rigid front axle and live rear axle: semi-elliptic leaf springs, front and rear.  however, both axles hung on semi-elliptic longitudinal plate springs, while in the two larger models, the rear axle had cantilever suspension .Transmission: three-speed manual gearbox.Brakes: drum (on four wheels from 1925).

This was the first Armstrong-Siddeley fitted a flat radiator in place of the vee which was fitted to the larger cars. The car and sold well.

In June 1925 appeared the 4/14 hp Mark II . The car was slightly larger than its predecessor, but engine and other technical characteristics remained the same., Among improvements were front wheel brakes and a longer chassis, while bodies were lower and more attractive.

The Sandown tourer had moe sporty slanted doors. Other standard bodies on the 14 hp were a saloon and a two- seater with dickey seat.

The 14 hp was dropped after 1929, when Armstrongs went over to an all- six-cylinder range. They only made one Other four-cylinder car, the Sapphire 234 from 1956 to 1958.

From both models together 13,365 copies were built. 1929, the model was discontinued without successor. Only after the Second World War Armstrong Siddeley should again offer a four-cylinder model.

History

The Twenty was a new model for 1927 it replaced the model 18 hp Mark II. Unlike this,it had a 2.9 litre pushrod ohv engine side-mounted six cylinder in-line , even if the displacement of 2872 cc (bore × stroke = 73 mm × 114.2 mm) was the same. The performance is max power, 85 bhp at 3200 rpm.Max speed 75 mph/ 120 kmh.

Like all pre-war models by Armstrong Siddeley, the 20 hp also had two rigid axles. The front axle hung on semi-elliptical longitudinal leaf springs. For the short wheelbase model (3048 mm) this also applies to the rear axle. The model with longer wheelbase (3277 mm) had as the last model of the manufacturer still a rear axle with cantilever suspension . A choice of wheel bases, the 120 in (304.8 cm) Short Twenty and the 129 in (327.6 cm) Special Twenty.

Renamed to the Long Twenty appeared in 1932. This was the year when the range was revised, the new models being called New Twenty. Engine capacity was enlarged to 3.2 litres and fluid fly wheel transmission was optional on the Long Twenty. The short models used the Wilson pre-selector gearbox, first introduced by Armstrong-Siddeley in 1929., the cars had become slightly larger than their predecessors. The new engine had a displacement of 3190 cc (bore × stroke = 73 mm × 127 mm). 100 km / h as the maximum speed.

Of both models (20 hp and 20 hp New) together 8847 copies were built up to 1936.

In 1936, the 20/25 hp replaced the New 20 hp. The body had remained about the same size, the engine had grown again. The new engine had a capacity of 3670 cc (bore × stroke = 82.5 mm × 114.3 mm). With a single SU carburetor he made 85 bhp (62.5 kW) at 3500 / min. The top speed increased significantly to 130 km / h.

Also new was the "Atlanta Sports Saloon", a sporty sedan with four doors.

1939 appeared the 20 hp Mark II . This had a much smaller engine than its predecessor. The new engine had a displacement of 2783 cc (bore × stroke = 75 mm × 105 mm).

In 1940, the 20 hp Mark II was discontinued due to the war without successors. Of the two last models (20/25 hp and 20 hp Mark II) together, only 884 copies were made.

The Armstrong Siddeley 15 hp is a car built by the British manufacturer Armstrong Siddeley from 1927 to 1934.

History

The first 15 hp was in 1927, the middle model of the manufacturer. This had, unlike its predecessor, a side-mounted six cylinder inline engine with a displacement of 1900 cc (bore × stroke = 63.5 mm × 101.1 mm).

Like all pre-war models by Armstrong Siddeley, the 15 hp also had two rigid axles. As with the 4/14 hp both axles hung on semi-elliptical longitudinal leaf springs. There were touring cars and limousines on two different lengths of chassis.

As early as 1928, the 15 hp Mark II appeared . The car had become slightly larger than its predecessor. The engine had also grown a bit: the stroke was 5 mm larger. Thus, the cubic capacity was 1928 cc.

Again, there were chassis with two different wheelbases. In addition to the touring car and the sedan, a roadster was also offered.

From both models together 7206 copies were built. In 1934, the 17 hp Short / Standard replaced the 15 hp.
