The 1990s Alpina B3 based on the 3 series E36 BMW was built from 1993 to 1999 by the small series manufacturer Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen .
History
The Alpina B3 built as a performance sedan and station wagon (touring) coupé and convertibles were also offered on the E36 series. The self-supporting and extremely rigid wholesteel body, welded to the floor pan. The body-base for the B3 3.0 offered a 325i (BMW E36) and a 328i for the B3 3.2. In both models, however, Alpina used the more robust M50 (B25TÜ) cast iron engine, as the M52 engine of the 328i was not suitable for expanding the displacement. Both vehicle variants were available as a coupe (two-door) and sedan (four-door), cabriolet (convertible) and station wagon (touring).

The Alpina B3 is a luxury sports car model built in small numbers by the manufacturer Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen, which is based on the 3 series E30 from the manufacturer BMW.
History
The Alpina B3 2.7 was produced from August 1987 to May 1992. A total of 257 units were manufactured in Buchloe, the number of units includes all variants. The basis for this was the BMW E30 325i with the M20 engine. It had an in- line six-cylinder with a displacement of 2693 cc and had an output of 150 kW (204 hp) and a torque of 265 Nm. The engine had a larger displacement than the standard series, machined combustion chambers, a 268 ° camshaft (later 272 °) and special cast pistons. The BMW Alpina B3 3.3 for the E46 was built from 1999 to 2006 by Alpina in various body versions of the 3 series BMW.
History
As from 1999 the new BMW Alpina B3 3.3 came for the new E46 series. In 1998, a prototype using the 3.2 L engine from the B3 3.2 was previously unveiled at the Birmingham Auto Show. The production model was formally presented at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show and the estate station wagon at the 2000 Birmingham Auto Show.
The body base was initially offered by the 328i (M52TÜ) and later the 330i (M54). The following model variants were available: sedan, coupe, cabriolet (convertible) and the estate station wagon (touring version).

Nice interior with Alpina steering wheel and seats with logos.From 2001, the B3 was also offered in an all-wheel drive variant, which premiered at the Geneva Motor Show of the same year. The Alpina D3 Biturbo has been in production since 2008 and is based on the BMW 3 Series. It is the diesel version of the Alpina B3 .

The Alpina D4 is a mid-range passenger car which is based on the 4 series from the automobile manufacturer BMW . It was manufactured as a coupé and convertible . It is the diesel version of the Alpina B4 , but in contrast to this it is only available with rear-wheel drive .

The D4 was revised in March 2017. In the summer of 2018, the series was discontinued.
