The introduction of the sixth and final generation of the Mitsubishi Colt took place in June 2004.
History
The vehicle was developed together with the simultaneously launched Smart Forfour, with which this Colt shared the platform and technical components. Overall, about 40 percent of the parts were the same for both vehicles. Both vehicles were built in the Netherlands by the company NedCar. Stars in the Euro NCAP Crash Test (2005) 4 stars
The new Colt, which was offered for the first time at this time with the more powerful of the two planned common-rail diesel engines (3-cylinder from Daimler Chrysler) While the production of the Smart for Four was discontinued in July 2006, the last Colt Z30 was released on 16 November 2012 by the band. Successor is the new "Space Star", which is very similar to this last Colt and not the old, former Space Star. In 2004, the larger Colt Plus was launched this had a larger more boot space compared to the normal colt. The Colt plus also features an automatic tailgate operation.
Mitsubishi released the Colt CZC coupé cabriolet at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2005, The coupé cabriolet is a 2+2 with a retractable hard-top and available with the turbo engine as below, Jointly developed by Mitsubishi and Pininfarina studio.

In 2006 Mitsubishi Electric Colt. Mitsubishi first displayed the Colt MIEV, With two 20 kW in-wheel motors at each wheel with a range of 93 miles (150 km). The Colt MIEV has a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph)
At the Mondial de l'Automobile in October 2008 in Paris, a revised version of the Mitsubishi Colt was introduced, which came on November 15, 2008 on the market. The changes to the three- or five-door hatchback model concerned mainly the look.
The production of the diesel engine was discontinued due to a lack of demand. According to Mitsubishi only 35% of the body parts of the previous model have been retained. The Colt ClearTec was a particularly low-consumption and low-emission variant of the Colt available from spring 2009. Technologies such as low-rolling-resistance tires, optimized transmission ratio, new low-viscosity engine oil and automatic start-stop enable fuel consumption and emissions to be further reduced.
The front of the body was to the so-called jet-fighter front of the eighth Lancer-Generation adapted and had from then on narrower and edged shaped headlights. The large, two-part grille was limited by a less steep and higher-closing bonnet upwards. The lower part of the bumper was the revised Colt black plastic with recesses for the fog lights. The all-round bumpers were eliminated, and the panels of the A-, B- and C-pillars are now in black instead of in the car colour. At the rear of the five-door Colt the high taillights were reduced and locked at the rear window; In addition, reflectors were integrated into the redesigned and now black rear apron.

In the interior, the steering wheel has been given a new shape, and the three round instruments have been replaced by two and supplemented by an information display. In addition to the revision of the centre console with modified controls for the operation of air conditioning and audio system, the quality of the materials used should be increased and the noise insulation improved. A modified rear seat also increases the maximum boot volume from 854 to 1032 litres.

The exclusively three-door top model Colt CZT was dropped after the facelift and was replaced by a new sports model called Ralliart. This was now also available as a five-door, in which continued to find the turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 110 kW (150 hp) at 6000 rpm.

In addition to an optimized chassis for better handling low profile high-grip 16-inch tires (205/45R16), this model was characterized by a Ralliart emblem on the grille, side skirts and a roof spoiler. In addition, it was equipped with a chromed exhaust tailpipe at the rear and with titanium-coloured alloy wheels. From early 2011, the Colt Ralliart was no longer available. In February 2012 it was announced that production of the Colt and Mitsubishi Outlander in the plant Born (Netherlands) is set due to insufficient capacity. Instead, the new models are now being delivered from Eastern Europe and Asia.
