The Armstrong Siddeley 17 hp is a car manufactured by the British manufacturer Armstrong Siddeley from 1935 to 1939 as a successor to the 15 hp .

History

There was a number of body versions as long or short. There were chassis with three different wheelbases: 2819 mm, 2946 mm and 3137 mm. Coupe and Sport Sedan was on the short chassis, sedan and touring cars on the standard chassis and the long chassis of the Pullman limousine and the Landaulet . The cars with a short chassis reached a top speed of 112 km / h, the standard chassis 109 km / h.

A top- mounted six cylinder in-line engine with 2394 cc displacement (bore × stroke = 66.67 mm × 114 mm) was installed, which gave a power of 60 bhp (44 kW) at 3300 / min.  Fitted with a manual four-speed gearbox and a propeller shaft, to the rear wheels.

By 1939, 4260 copies of the 17 hp. The successor was the 16-Six.
