The Armstrong Siddeley 18 hp is a car built by the British manufacturer Armstrong Siddeley from 1921 to 1926. This was the second model of the manufacturer .
History
The 18 hp was the manufacturer's first midsize car. This had a top-mounted six cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 2318 cc (bore × stroke = 69.5 mm × 104.8 mm). The maximum speed is 96 km / h. Like the 30 hp, the 18 hp also had two rigid axles. The front axle hung on longitudinal leaf springs, and had a three speed gearbox .
Price new £785 to £825 depending on model and options such as Interior trim that came with options of cloth or leather, and mahogany wood interior trim
1925 appared the 18 hp Mark II . The car had become slightly larger than its predecessor. with a Length of 4267 mm a Width of 1727 mm and a Wheelbase of 3277 mm
A larger six cylinder 2.9 liters engine was used, which corresponded in design to that of its predecessor with longer stroke . The capacity increased to 2872 cm³ (bore × stroke = 73 mm × 114.29 mm). The performance of this engine is now 20hp. 104 km / h is given as the maximum speed.
From both models together 2500 copies were built. In 1926, the 20 hp replaced the 18 hp Mark II.
