The Bolide Motor Car Corporation was an American automobile manufacturer, which was from 1969 to 1971 in Hurlington (New York) USA.

History

President of the company was Andrew J. Griffith jr. who previously headed Griffith Motors.Dann Deaver, associated with Centaur Engineering, a research and developmentarm the design of Borg Warner the Can-Ams mid-engine sports cars powered by an advanced Ford V8, scheduled for production in 1970.The Bolide Motor Car Corporation, has been established to meet the new automotive challenges of the Seventies, for special demands for exotic and specialized types of cars.

Two competition models were built Available as either as a complete car as or kit:

The Can Am I was a two-seat roadster with Ford V8 mid-engine, which had 5752 cc. It was priced at US $ 3,500 and was intended for use in road races.

At only 42 inches high. has the incredibly low-slung look of the two seat racers of the Can-Am Championship. The Can-Am was conceived as a beautiful, comfortable and quick sports car on the highway.Unique features of the Can-Am include its low neckline" front hood and windshield. for excellent visibility. and its deep canopy and top. This slides backin a radical way to give easy entry.

The Sports coupe is engineered to use all independent Corvair suspension. adapted at the rear to racing-type units. Can-Am is equipped with a 165 CID Corvair engine with 160bhp through and 4 speed transmission.It has an integral chassis-body Structure formed from reinforced moulded ABS plastic with Ultrasonic welding monocoque.

There was also the Sports Utility. This was a two-door pickup with Jeep V6 engine, which had a displacement of 3687 cc and a power of 160 bhp (118 kW) at 4200 rpm offered. He was meant to participate in field competitions.
