In 1999, the second generation of the Quest was launched. The body was now more aerodynamic and was complemented by a second sliding door on the driver's side.

History

The Nissan Quest is a van produced since 1993 by the car manufacturer Nissan . The first two generations of the Quest were created through a joint venture with the Ford Motor Company , which marketed its own variant as Mercury Villager . In 2003, the joint production ended with Ford. As a successor Ford introduced the Mercury Monterey on the market, whereas Nissan has been producing the quest since 2004 on its own. 

The known from the predecessor variant XE has been deleted and offered the model GXE as a new basic equipment. Modular rear seats can be modified according to 14 arrangements and are easy to manipulate. Good wheel travel and well-adjusted shock absorbers on the rear
The rear seat area and baggage compartment are limited The GXE is robust frame dual airbag standard headrests on every seat and ABS brakes. this equipme comes standard as wen as on all models built after '99.This was supplemented by the sporty version SE and the top model GLE . A facelift took place in 2001, in which the Quest was refreshed optically and all models received new alloy wheels . The basic model now also had a stabilizeron the rear axle, and the chassis of the sporty variant has also been improved. The interior has been redesigned with new instruments and seat covers, and optionally, or as standard, a more powerful sound system, a CD changer, and entertainment systems are now available. The front seat belts were also supplemented with belt tensioners. With the facelift also the length of the quest increased slightly, which benefited the load volume.

The drive was a SOHC -V6 engine with 3.3 liter displacement and a power of 128 kW (174 hp) and 270 Nm of torque used. This engine was developed by Nissan and named VG33E .

    99-00 The retaining bolts for the steering rack mounting may been torqued to the proper specifications. The seat belt buckle assembly are defective and must be replaced.
