The Fiat 519 is a luxury vehicle produced by FIAT in the 1920s built from 1922 to 1927

History

The Fiat 519 is the first car to be produced in the Lingotto facilities .Together with the 520 Superfiat , it was FIAT's high-end car in the period between the two world wars . He had installed hydraulic brakes (more precisely a Pierrot system) on all four wheels, an exception for the time.

2411 cars were produced.Built on a completely new frame , it featured a wheelbase of 3600 mm, a length of 4365 mm and a track width of 1471 mm. It was rear-wheel drive . Several versions were marketed, more precisely sedan , limousine and cabriolet .

Five different versions were produced, namely the "519", the "519A", the "519B", the "519C" and the "519S 4 / 5S Tourer". They all had four doors and 2 + 2 seats. Below are summarized the salient features of the various models:

  • 519A: compared to the "519" it had a higher radiator and a more powerful coolant circuit pump. The oil filler, now in the center of the pedestal, was also modified. It had a rear anti-roll crossbow , which avoided the mounting of a conventional suspension scheme ;
  • 519B: marketed since 1925 , compared to the previous model it had a different braking device mounted on the front end (more precisely a "perrot" system). The suspensions were improved;
  • 519C (also known as "colonial"): for this version the height from the ground was increased.
  • 519S: shorter version (it had a pitch of 3300 mm) and a track remained unchanged, more precisely 1475 mm.

The gearbox was four-speed manual.he engine was a six-cylinder in-line engine and had a displacement of 4766 cc with overhead valves and two valves per cylinder , a bore of 85 mm and a stroke of 140 mm. It developed a power of 77 hp . The suspension was a semi-elliptical crossbow and was rear wheel drive . It reached the maximum speed of 127 km / h . It weighed 2350 kg
