The Fiat 514 is a mid-range car produced by FIAT from 1929 to 1932 .
It replaced the Fiat 509 , and was the first compact car ever built. It enjoyed great commercial success and was widely exported to foreign countries. The Taxi version was also prepared , the "514 L". Three sports versions were built with elegant finishes, the "514 S", the "514 S MM" ( Mille Miglia ) and the "514CA" (Alpine Cup). The cars were rear-wheel drive .
It had a motor in-line four-cylinder engine of 1438 cc of displacement developing 28 hp of power , .The "514" first series reached 80 km/ h while the "514 CA" reached 105 km/ h.
It was built with a total of 36970 units and was marketed in the two and four-door sedan versions, two-door spider , two-door coupe and two- and four-door convertible .
It was also manufactured in Spain by the "Fiat Hispania" in a factory purchased by Hispano-Suiza , located in Guadalajara . The factory was destroyed in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War and was never rebuilt. In 1950 , Fiat will invest substantial capital for a new production plant in Barcelona , in the Franca area , creating SEAT .It was replaced by the Fiat 508 Balilla .
