History
The Dodge Luxury Liner (also Dodge series D11 , later Dodge series D14 / D17 ) was a Dodge car in Detroit , which was presented as a successor to the Dodge D8 series in October 1938 as a model 1939. This was further built in the following year leading up to America entering WW2.
In the following year, revised luxury liners were presented. The Special (D17) and the Deluxe (D14) had their own model numbers. The short chassis had grown by 2.5 "to 3035 mm wheelbase, the long by 5.5" to 3543 mm wheelbase. The chrome grille had been pulled further up. To the model range of the previous year came to the deluxe still a 2-door convertible with 5 seats on a coupe basis.
In September 1940, the name Luxury Liner was dropped. The successors were called Deluxe and Custom .
