The Škoda 973 was the prototype of a off road open jeep with four-wheel drive built in the 1950s.
History
The Škoda 973 was a 4 door,four-seat vehicle with soft top was developed in 1952 and had a self-supporting full steel body.
At first The water-cooled, overhead four-cylinder in-line four-stroke engine had a displacement of 1221 cc and a power of 45 hp (33 kW). This accelerated the 1190 kg vehicle on land up to 90 km / h. The main gearbox with reduction gear and differential was flanged to the engine block and the drive power was transmitted to all four wheels.This vehicle was also available with a larger engine with 1491 cc with 2 Solex carburators, and a power of 52 hp (38 kW).
There never was a mass production made.
