Cartermobile Brownie (Carter Motor & Manufacturing Company)

Carter Motor & Manufacturing Company was an early American manufacturer of automobiles in the 1910s. The brand name was Cartermobile and Brownie 

History 

Carter Motor & Manufacturing Company was founded in 1915, by JO Carter the company based in Hannibal, Missouri. They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Cartermobile in the first year. The success on the market remained low. Carter revised the vehicle in late 1915 now as Brownie. 

The model had a touring streamline body. fitted with a four-cylinder engine. The chassis had a 115 inch (292 cm) wheelbase and 33x4 tires, fitted with Remy electric lights and starter system. The original price was $4985 US dollars.

The later cars as the Brand Name Brownie, there were hardly any differences. The wheelbase had been cut to 290 cm. The engine made 23 hp. The price had been lowered to $ 735.

The end of 1916 there were plans production to move to Detroit, but were not implemented. And later in 1916 ended the production.
