The Orlando concept vehicle was unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show as the successor to the Chevrolet Rezzo . At the same fair, two years (2010) later, the production version was formally presented to the public for the first time. The series production of the first generation was launched in October 2010. In the Euro NCAP crash test conducted in 2011, the vehicle was rated with a rating of five stars. Since the NCAP crash test does not provide a rear impact test, the safety of the rear seat row can not be substantiated; the head airbags protect according to the manufacturer only occupants of the first and second row of seats. The ADAC refers to Euro NCAP crash test results with very low cervical spine load during a rear crash.
The Orlando has seven seats as standard, with two seats behind the rear axle and are individually hinged. For the entry to the rear, the middle row of seats can be folded forward. When used as a seven-seater, the trunk volume is reduced to 89 liters and the backrests of the rear seats almost reach the tailgate.
When folded down third row of seats results in a flat cargo area. The middle row of seats is also completely foldable (asymmetrical 1/3 right, 2/3 left divided), so that a flat, continuous loading area with a total of 1487 liters can be achieved. With 4.65 meters, the Orlando is longer than the competitors Opel Zafira B and VW Touran I , the latter had 1989 liters of cargo space.
The sale of Orlando in Central Europe ended about mid-2014 with the withdrawal of the brand. Only in the Chinese market is the successor now available the new Chevrolet Orlando from (2018) .

In the gasoline engine, the camshafts are driven by toothed belts , in the diesel engines by a timing chain . In Canada, the Orlando with a 2.4 l R4 -Ottomotor from the Ecotec series with direct fuel injection , a maximum power of 130 kW and with six-speed manual transmission or surcharge with six-speed automatic transmission available.
