The Chevrolet Bison - also sold as GMC General - was a conventional type ladder frame Chassis heavy truck, that General Motors produced in the model years from 1977 to 1988 in the United States. After 1981, the Chevrolet Bison was discontinued and then just as the GMC General .
No gasoline engines were available, but several diesel powerplants engines to choose from Caterpillar , Cummins and Detroit Diesel 8V71 or 8V92 . The GMC version was more common than Chevrolet's.
Fitted with a day cab, or a larger 34-inch sleeper cab was offered for the range.
