The Hall Motor Vehicle Company , previously as Hall Motor Carriage Company was a early short-lived American car manufacturer of luxury in Dover,New Jersey USA.
History
Hiram P. Hall created the company in 1903 with the goal of producing a distinguished automobile known as a hall. It was a luxury car with sleek, French-style that looked similar to a Panhard & Levassor or Darracq.
It had a two-cylinder engine with 20 horsepower and water cooling at the time. The drive chain was used to transfer power from the front axle to the back axle. The sole body type available was an aluminium rear-entry tonneau, which was an open four-seater with access to the back seats via a rear door. With a weight of only 1100 kg, the automobile was quite heavy (2400 lbs). A "pleasant cruising speed" of 20 MPH, or roughly 32 km/h, was given by the manufacturer.
The selling price of 3500 US dollars was high for a car with this power and only two cylinders . A comparable Royal Tourist cost about $ 2300.
In 1904, the company was renamed Hall Motor Vehicle Company and the Hall sold for $ 500 cheaper. At the end of 1904, Hall ceased operations and the company was dissolved. Hiram Hall later built locomotives .
