The Equator was offered in a single or double cabin, with the former offering four, the latter five seats. In Canada, the model was offered only with a double cabin and a trim level.
The basic single-cabin models were powered by a four-cylinder in-line engine. Optionally, a V6 was available for this, which was also installed in all models with a double cabin. Both engines were from Nissan .
The entry-level 2.5-liter engine produced 112 kW at 5200 rpm and 171 Nm at 4400 rpm . The power was transferred from a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels.
The 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine provided 192 kW at 5600 rpm and 281 Nm at 4000 rpm. This was always coupled with four-wheel drive and a 5-speed automatic transmission.
With the withdrawal of Suzuki from the North American market in 2012, the production of Equator was discontinued.
