The Willys Jeep Station Wagon was introduced in 1946. this Jeep station Wagon. was Americas first all-steel wagon. The design a 2 door model only Its steel body panels painted to look like the more expensive wood-bodied wagons (woodies) Initially, this was only as the model 463 , which was powered by the well-known Willys Go Devil - engine L-134 , a side-mounted inline four-cylinder. The model 663 with the side- mounted inline six-cylinder engine Willys Lightning L-148 came out in 1948. 1949 could be ordered optionally a four-wheel drive. Inline L-head four-cylinder. Cast iron block. the Displacement: 134.2 cubic inches with Bore and stroke: 3.13 x 4.38 inches. Compression ratio: 6.48:1. Brake horsepower: 69 at  3900 R.P.M. Carburetion: Carter WAI-613S one-barrel. Three main bearings. Solid valve lifters. 

In 1950 there were a number of changes. The flat grille was replaced by a V-shaped version with five horizontal bars crossing the vertical ones. There were also new engines: the model 473 got the new Willys Hurricane engine F-134 and the model 673 had a 2590 cc version of the Lightning six-cylinder. As another big change this year, the new limousine van has been added to the model range.equipment now included dual wipers; front bumper guards and rails; wheel trim rings; rear view mirrors; cigar  lighter and white sidewall tires.

In 1952, the side-controlled Lightning engine fell in favor of the Willys Hurricane F-161 , which was installed in the 685model .

The model year 1954 was the first under the new owner Kaiser . The 6-226 Super Hurricane engine , a side -mountedstraight-six, was introduced. This was a version of the Kaiser Supersonic / Continental Red Seal engine.

In 1955, a series of new models came to it. The series 6-226 got a model with bare chassis, one with only stem, one with stem and windscreen and an ambulance. The series 475 was only available with stem and windshield.
