Atsuta was a Japanese car brand from the 1930s. The brand name was アツタ号, (Atsuta-go)
History
The company Nippon Sharyo Seizo from Atsuta , Nagoya is considered the manufacturer. The engine was supplied by the machine factory Ōkuma ( 大 隈 鉄 工 所 , Ōkuma Tekkōjo ). Next Aichi Kokuki (were 愛知時計電機 ) and Okamoto Jidensha ( 岡本自転車 ) .In 1930, the mayor of Nagoya at the time, Isao Oiwa, proposed the "Chukyo Automobile Industrialization Concept," also known as the "Chukyo Detroitization Concept Atsuta-go in the so-called "Chukyo Detroit plan. It was an attempt to establish an automobile industry in Nagoya, and through the mediation of the mayor, five machinery-related companies in the city were established: Okamoto Bicycle Automobile Works (in charge of wheels and brakes), Nippon Sharyo, Okuma Iron Works, and Aichi. Tokei Denki Co., Ltd. and Toyota Loom Co., Ltd. participated in the project.
1932 completed the prototype of Japan's first purely domestic passenger car design Ikenaga Higuma, the Atsuta.The production of automobiles started according to the manufacturer 1932.One of the employees was Takatoshi Kan, who later was with Toyota.First came two vehicles. The companies involved were divided over the distribution of costs and the preparation of production, so that Nippon Sharyo Seizo alone until 1937 made another 40 vehicles. The model was a large sedan. The vehicles resembled the then models of American Nash Motors with water-cooled eight-cylinder engine of 3940 cc displacement and 85 PS it is a hand-made passenger car that was far from ever being mass-produced and was then sold at a super high price from the time of price of 6500 yen.
