The Alpina Roadster V8 is a small series 2 seat sports car from the Alpina company , which was first presented in 2002.

History

This ALPINA edition of BMWs contemporary classic roadster. A Z8 with an automatic transmission A new ZE powered not by the BMW M engine, butrather by a specially developed, higher-performance version of BMWs regular V-8 engine A new Z8 with 20-inch wheels and tires in place of the original 18-inch.

The Alpina version based on the Z8 appeared in mid-2002 . The difference with the BMW Z8 is mainly due to a stronger torque V8 engine with a maximum output of 280 kW (381 hp)  and an automatic transmission , to make it more interesting for the American and Japanese market. Like the Z8, this vehicle was sold in the USA by BMW AG.

555 copies were built in total.  By the end of 2003, a total of 450 Alpina Roadster V8s were delivered to the United States . The remaining 105 units remained for Europe and Japan .
