The Peugeot Type 161 , also called Quadrilette , is a car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot .
History
The vehicle was presented at the Brussels Motor Show in 1920. The production ran from 1921 to 1922. A total of 3500 vehicles were produced at the Beaulieu plant.Due to the low weight of less than 350 kg, the vehicle was classified as a Cyclecar .
It had a four-cylinder four - stroke engine , which was arranged in front and driven by the rear wheels. The engine of 667cc displacement and 8-10 hp .
There were the models 161 and 161 E. With a wheelbase of 230.4 cm and a narrow track width of 92.6 cm at the front and 75 cm at the rear, due to which a differential could be dispensed with, the vehicle length was 295.4 cm, the vehicle width 116.6 cm and the vehicle height 145 cm. The body shape Quadrilette offered space for two people, who could sit side by side in early versions, laterally offset in later versions.
The model was replaced in 1922 by the Peugeot type 172 .
