The Eagle Summit was one of the US automaker Eagle from 1988 to 1996.

History

The Summit were the same as some contemporary Mitsubishi models, which were sold by the newly created Chrysler Eagle brand in the fall of 1988.Available was the Summit from model year 1989 as a four-door sedan in basic and LX version with 1.5-liter four-cylinder or 1.6-liter four-cylinder with two overhead camshafts. Basis for the Summit was the Mitsubishi Lancer .In model year 1990, the model range fanned into the versions Basis, DL, LX and ES.

For the model years 1991/92, the four-door Summit was no longer imported from Japan, but manufactured in the factory of Diamond Star Motors in Illinois . In addition, the imported three-door Summit came on sale, a variant of the Mitsubishi Colt . The model offer consisted of base model and ES. The DOHC engine accounted for the 1.5-liter gained in performance.

From model year 1992 came in addition to the Mitsubishi Space Wagon as Eagle Summit Wagon as DL, LX and AWD (with four-wheel drive) in the program. From 1993, the latest model generation of Colt and Lancer was sold as a Summit. All models were imported again from this point on.

The sale ended in the summer of 1996.
