The Dodge Dodge series D11 Luxury Liner was a car built onlt from 1938 to 1939 in the USA by Dodge.

History

The Dodge Luxury Liner Dodge series D11 , later as the Dodge series D14 / D17  was presented as a successor to the Dodge D8 series in October 1938 as a model 1939. This was also further built in the following year.

The series D11  like its predecessors - a side-mounted six-cylinder in-line engine with 3569 cc, which made 87 bhp (64 kW) at 3600 rpm. Single-disc dry clutch, three-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive also had this vehicle. On request, a semi-automatic (vacuum automatically actuated clutch) was available.

There were two trim levels, the simpler equipped special and the better equipped deluxe . Both versions were available on the short chassis with 2972 mm wheelbase. From the Deluxe there was also a version with a long chassis (3404 mm wheelbase). The special was delivered only as 2- or 4-door sedan or as 2-door business coupe with 2 seats. From the Deluxe there were also three other coupe variants with 2, 4 or 5 seats. Like its predecessor, the "long" deluxe featured a 7-seater sedan and a 5-seater Pullman sedan.

These bodies were completely redesigned: The headlights had now been integrated into the front fenders. These fenders were also significantly more bulky, the hatchback for longer and more elegant. The front with the wide grille with horizontal chrome bars was tilted slightly forward, giving the car a more faster forward design look).
