History
The Dodge DU Series was only built in 1935 and had like its predecessors Dodge Standard , Dodge Special and Dodge Deluxe fitted with a side-mounted six-cylinder in-line engine with 3569 cc, which made 87 bhp (64 kW) at 3600 rpm. The bodies had been reworked: a narrow, tilted back grille and a more inclined windshield left the 92.5 mm lowered cars appear streamlined. As a new all-steel bodies were a 2- or 4-door sedan, each in "normal" (without trunk) and in "Touring execution" (with hatchback and rear trunk connected) offered. There were also two different 2-door coupes Business and the R/S version, and a 2-door convertible on the short chassis. R / S Coupe and Cabriolet were available with either 2 or 4 seats.
This was available with two wheelbases: most were on the chassis with 2946 mm wheelbase; the 7-seater sedan and the 5-seater sedan this had 3251 mm wheelbase. On technical innovations, the cars offered a start automatic (semi-automatic choke ), a power steeringand adjustable windshields. Single-disc dry clutch, three-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive also had this vehicle. On request, a semi-automatic (vacuum automatically actuated clutch) was available.
Already in November 1935, the car was replaced by the model Beauty Winner .
