The Toyota 4GR Engine is a petrol V6 engine used in Lexus and Toyota cars from 2003 on.

History

The Toyota GR engine family is an V6 piston engine series. The GR series has a 60° die-cast aluminum block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. This engine series also features 4 valves per cylinder, forged steel connecting rods, one-piece cast camshafts, and a cast aluminum lower intake manifold.

Some variants use multi-port fuel injection, some have D4 direct injection, and others have a combination of direct injection and multi-port fuel injection or D4-S.The GR series replaces the previous MZ V6 and JZ inline-6, and in the case of light trucks the VZ V6.

The 4GR-FSE is a 2.5 L (2499 cc) version. Bore is 83.0 mm while stroke is reduced to 77.0 mm. Output is 207 PS (152 kW; 204 hp) at 6,400 RPM and 26.5 kg·m (260 N·m; 192 lb·ft) at 3,800 RPM. This version also features Dual VVT-i, variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust cams and an improved D4 direct injection system. For 2006 on model year vehicles. Toyota rates engines on 87 pump octane, Lexus rates engines on 91 pump octanes.

 Toyota 2E engine Technical details

The Toyota 2E is a straight-4 petrol type engine first appeared in 1985, and was discontinued in 1999.

History

The Toyota 2E engine is a straight-4 piston engine series, and uses timing belt rather than a chain. The E engines were the first multi-valve engines from Toyota designed with economy, practicality and everyday use in mind. The 2E is a 1.3 L SOHC version with three valves per cylinder using Nippon Denso type Starter motor, Alternator/Regulator, Ignition and Distributor. The power output ranged from 65 hp to 82 hp at 6000 rpm with 72 lb ft (98 NM) of torque at 3600 rpm to 77 lb ft (104 NM) of torque at 5200 rpm.

The 2E engines appeared in both carburetted using Aisan Type Fuel system. and fuel-injected versions with Firing order 1-3-4-2. The 2E-TE, appearing in 1986, was a turbocharged engine producing 101 hp (75 kW). A later version, the 2E-TELU produced 110 hp (82 kW). . Like many other Toyota engines from the era, the E engine series features a cast iron block, along with an aluminium cylinder head.

The Toyota 2F 4,200cc type engine is a Water cooled Inline 6-cylinder OHV 12-valve engine for automobiles .

History

The Toyota F-type with 3.9L,4.0L 4.2L was used in larger vehicles  the engine was used for Commercial vehicles as well as  automobiles and industrial machinery that was once manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Industries as a series of in -line 6-cylinder petrol engines, it was also successfully used as an engine in the four-wheel-drive Toyota Land Cruiser .

The basic layout can be traced back to the first generation A-type engine ( 1935), which copied the Chevrolet engine when Toyota was first founded. Since production continued as an engine, it was the oldest engine series not only for Toyota, but also for engines developed and produced for commercial use after the war in Japan. The successor is the 3F type engine .
