History
The Honda City is a small car of the Japanese vehicle manufacturer Honda . Originally the car was introduced in 1981 in the Japanese market, now it is offered in various countries. In Japan, the current version is now called Honda Fit Aria and is complemented by the Honda Fit .
This was followed by a convertible and two turbo versions of the city in the first generation. Only the normal hatchback version was offered from 1984 to 1986 in Europe as Honda Jazz .
At the Tokyo Motor Show in 1981 , the city was presented as a space miracle, because you could accommodate a mini motorcycle ( Motocompo ) in the trunk. He was then called "Tall Boy" among his creators. Due to the fuel-efficient consumption and the large amount of space, the Honda City was very quickly a great success and enjoyed great popularity among the Japanese population.
Technically, the engines were very advanced at the time. In the turbo version, a 1.2-liter engine with turbocharger was used, which brought it by means of PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) to 100 hp. An additional intercooler made it to 110 hp for the Turbo II.
