 Mazda SKYACTIV-G Service Guide 2.0l Engine PE-VPS PE-VPR PE-VPH

Mazda SKYACTIV-G is the name of an inline 4-cylinder gasoline direct injection engine developed and manufactured by Mazda. One of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY.

History

It was announced on October 20, 2010 as part of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY. It achieves the world's highest compression ratio of 14.0 for a mass -produced gasoline engine, and both fuel efficiency and torque are improved by 15% compared to conventional engines.

Conventionally, when the compression ratio is increased, the air- fuel mixture is exposed to high temperature and high pressure, which inevitably causes abnormal combustion known as knocking. Mazda achieved the world's highest compression ratio by reducing residual gas, cylinder temperature, and time loss through mechanisms such as a 4-2-1 exhaust system, a piston with a cavity, and a multi-hole injector.

In addition, since the 4-2-1 exhaust system requires a wider space behind the engine room than before, when installing it on existing models, it is changed to a general 4-1 exhaust system and the compression ratio is increased. is also dropped.
