The Acura RSX was introduced in North America and Hong Kong in 2002 as the successor to the Honda Integra. The old name was retained in Japan. In contrast to the previously available versions, the RSX was only available as a two-door coupé from the start. As with the Integra, the RSX is based on the current generation of Civic models. As a sports coupé, the RSX has 4 seats.

Both variants have ABS and front and side airbags and were delivered with 16 " light alloy wheels. The leather interior, on the other hand, was only standard in the Type-S but also a option.

2005: From now on, the Type-S version of the RSX with 157 kW (210 hp) is more powerfully motorized than before, 17 "wheels and a revised brake system are now standard equipment on the Type-S. Visually revised the front of the RSX now had an enlarged radiator grille. The headlights, taillights and the rear apron were also redesigned. Wind noise from the mirrors was reduced by filling in the gaps in the mirror triangle.

The basic version of the RSX has a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine with 119 kW (160 hp), available with a 5-speed manual transmission or alternatively with a 5-speed automatic. The sportier equipment variant of the RSX, the Type-S, also has a 2.0-liter DOHC 16-V engine, which in contrast to the less powerful variant initially 149 kW (200 hp), later 157 kW (210 hp) and was only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
