The Datsun Cabstar ("Star Cab", also marketed as Nissan Cabstar) was a pickup truck and small truck that Datsun produced between 1968 and 1982.

History

The first generation was a model developed by Datsun himself, while the second generation was a badge-engineering model by Nissan Homer .

The Cabstar debuted on the market in October 1968 as the successor of the Datsun Cablight. The engine was positioned under the front seats as a mid-engine. It featured a D12 OHV 1189 cc gasoline engine that produced 56 horsepower. There were also van and minibus models in addition to the truck. The smaller Datsun Sunny Cab, based on the Cabstar, was introduced in 1969. The J13-1299 cc gasoline engine with 67 horsepower, which was also utilised in the Datsun Bluebird 411 and Datsun 520 pickup, was available starting in 1970. A new radiator grille with horizontal chrome bars was also added to the truck.

In 1971, the J15-1483 cc petrol engine with 77 hp from the Datsun 620 pickup was added. With a small revision of the front from 1973, the Cabstar A320 was still produced until 1975.
