Henry C. Hart Manufacturing Company was an early American company that produced several automobiles, The brand name was Hart . 

History 

The company was founded in November 1884 in Detroit , Michigan . Its predecessors are Clark Hardware Company and Henry C. Hart & Company . Henry C. Hart led the company. It made parts for railways , but also safes and toys .

On August 14, 1891, a fire destroyed the factory. At that time, the company employed 350 people. On November 15, 1894, the railroad division was sold to the Dayton Manufacturing Company . In October 1898, the Ideal Manufacturing Company took over the company. In 1899 it was dissolved. 

Already in early 1894 Hart experimented with gasoline engines and received several patents . On July 15, 1897, he founded the Hart Motor Company for engine production. 1898 he produced several automobiles . The vehicles had gasoline engines of the Hart Motor Company
