The Toyota SZ engine family is a straight-4 piston engine series with its exhaust facing forward.This engine was jointly developed by Daihatsu. codes are 1SZ-FE (1.0L), 2SZ-FE (1.3L) 3SZ-VE (1.5L)

1SZ-FE

TOYOTA YARIS engine 1SZ-FE.

The 1SZ-FE is 1.0 L (997 cc). Bore is 69 mm and stroke is 66.7 mm, with a compression ratio of 10.0:1. Output is 51.5 kW (69 hp) at 6000 rpm with 95 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. It features VVT-i, off-set type crankshaft which reduces friction losses and narrow-angle valves. Engine weight of 68 kg was achieved by using cast-iron cylinder block produced by cold-box method.

2SZ-FE

TOYOTA YARIS engine 2SZ-FE

The 2SZ-FE is 1.3 L (1297 cc). Bore is 72 mm and stroke is 79.6 mm, with a compression ratio of 11.0:1. Output is 64 kW (86 hp) at 6000 rpm with 122 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. It features VVT-i.

3SZ-VE

DAIHATSU TERIOS 1.5 3SZ-VE engine

The 3SZ-VE is 1.5 L (1495 cc). Bore is 72 mm and stroke is 91.8 mm, with a compression ratio of 10.0:1 and redline of 6500 rpm. Output is 80 kW (107 hp) at 6000 rpm with 141 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm. It features VVT-i.
