The EA827 2.0 is an engine series of the Volkswagen Group with four cylinders in series and liquid cooling . well known in the Golf GTI 16v

The EA8273. Developed by Franz Hauk, the long-time head of engine design at Audi . The motors of this series are considered the most-built engines in the VW group. The first four-cylinder diesel engines of the Volkswagen Group is also based on the EA827 engine block. The EA827 is a water cooled four - cylinder inline engine with gray cast iron engine block and aluminum cylinder head .
