The Cadillac Starlight was a concept vehicle that introduced the Cadillac Division of General Motors at the Paris Motor Show in October 1959.
History
The Italian bodywork maker Pininfarina made a coupe for Cadillac, which looked very similar to the Skylight coupe of the previous year. Together, the vehicles had the simple design. The grille with thin, horizontal chrome bars stretched across the entire vehicle width and also reached around the corners of the vehicle. Above sat double headlights, under which rectangular indicators were embedded in the radiator grille. The front and rear of the car were tilted forwards, but the tail fins were much smaller than the Skylight. The spoked wheels bore whitewall tires.
The peculiarity of the Starlight was the coupe roof made of Plexiglas, which could be covered with four metal plates from the inside. If this cover was not desired, the four parts could be stored separately behind the parcel shelf.
