Fujioka Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles in the 1920s.
History
They founded the company in Los Angeles , California Shoki Ltd of Yokohama Japan backed the project.Earl A. Spencer and George B. Morrow had gained experience in the automotive industry at Pierce-Arrow . President and namesake was Fred J. Fujioka, who owned a car repair shop and was manager of the Southern California Southern Automobile Club.
in 1922 for automobile manufacturing, they decided to produce a small vehicle for export to Japan , its size was small due to Japan’s taxes on cars .The cars to be manafactured in the USA an to be assembled in Japan . Spencer was the designer. Fujioka developed an engine that ran on coal oil with the help of a modified carburetor. As coal oil was more readily available and far cheaper than gasoline at the the time in Japan. The brand name was Fujioka .
By 1923 ended production. Overall, only a few vehicles built.
