The Riker Electric Motor Company (1896-1899) was an American manufacturer of electric cars , founded in 1896 by the automobile pioneer Andrew L. Riker in Brooklyn , New York .

In 1899, Riker relocated to Elizabethport , New Jersey and renamed the company Riker Electric Vehicle Company .

In 1900 he renamed the company Riker Motor Vehicle Company . The car company had become a leading manufacturer of electric cars in the United States and offered these under the brand name Riker as a car in Tricycle , Runabout , Phaeton , Surrey , Victoria , Demi-Coach , Brougham , and also built the minibus Station coach and post and delivery van .

In 1902, the company went to the Electric Vehicle Company .
