The Lancia Flaminia 2.8 Saloon was built from 1963 to 1970 part of the Lancia Flaminia range.

History

At the XLI motor show in Frankfurt in autumn 1963, the version was born with an engine displacement increased to 2.8 litres (through the re-bore of the cylinders from 80 to 85 mm) and therefore more powerful (129 hp CUNA) the maximum torque rises to 23.3 mkg at 2500 rpm) which gives the Flaminia a significant improvement in pick-up rather than in speed performance (the maximum speed rises slightly, from 166 to 170 km / h). Small variations concern the transmission (the gear ratios and that of the bridge are different) and the brakes (which of course are standard disc) where the diameter of the discs is slightly increased). In Italy the version with automatic clutch is no longer offered, which remains available for some foreign markets.

Lancia Flaminia 2.8 Saloon (1963-1970)

The bodywork does not undergo any changes, so much so that the new 2800 differs from that on the tail. It should be noted that, for another five years (until 1968), the Flaminia sedan is available in two displacements (2500 or 2800 cm³) then, in 1969 and until the end of production in early months of 1970 there will not be a new Lancia flagship model until 1976, when the Gamma model will be released, a modern front-wheel drive car with a two-volume body and a 140hp 2.5-liter boxer engine.

Period of production: approximately, from September 1963 to 1970

Models: type 826.000, 4-door sedan, 5-6 seats, left-hand drive type 826.001, 4-door sedan, 5-6 seats, right-hand drive

Progressive numbering: types 826.000 and 826.001: from 1001 to 1599

Units produced :599 (of which 556 with left-hand drive and 43 with right-hand drive)
