The Jeep Patriot is a compact crossover SUV that made its debut at the 2006 New York International Auto Show. Market launch in the US was in early 2007.

History

Based on the Jeep Patriot concept first introduced at the 2005 International Motor Show (IAA)in Frankfurt, the 2007 Jeep Patriot is a modern interpretation of traditional Jeep styling. Jeep Patriot combines the packaging and interior flexibility of an SUV with the performance, handling, fuel economy and price of a compact car or small pickup. of the Jeep brand it lies between the Jeep Compass and the Jeep Cherokee. It is based on the jointly developed by DaimlerChrysler and Mitsubishi GS platform, which includes, inter alia, the Jeep Compass and the Dodge Caliber. Together with these two vehicles, it was manufactured at the Belvidere plant in Illinois (USA). The Patriot is both front-wheel drive and with the Freedom Drive I called four - wheel drive available. There are two engines to choose from. Both are petrol inline engines with four cylinders, the one with 2.4 l, the other has 2.0 l displacement. The latter without four-wheel drive, but as standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The 2.4-liter engine works as standard on a manual five-speed gearbox or optionally on the continuously variable transmission.

• Standard side-curtain air bags
• Available nine-speaker Boston Acoustics Premium Sound includes two articulating speakers packaged in the liftgate; when the liftgate is open, the speakers swing down to face rearward for tailgating and Other activities
• Auxiliary audio input jack for MP3 connectivity on standard radio
• Available dual purpose, self-recharging removable Cargo lamp, which is mounted in the headliner above the cargo area and can snap Out Of the bezel to serve as a flashlight
• A sliding centre armrest that moves forward 3 inches to accommodate shorter drivers. The armrest lid includes a unique flip pocket for storing a cell phone or an MP3 player
• Available 115-volt outlet in the centre console that powers small electronics
• Available fold-flat front passenger seat that creates a table-like surface for versatility
• Standard 60/40,rear seats that fold flat and have an available recline feature
• Ultra washable and removable vinyl load floor in the rear cargo area with a 250-1b.load capacity

Jeep Patriot specifications (2007-2016)

From the end of 2007, the Patriot was officially available in Europe the 2.0-liter gasoline engine was not offered, but for a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 125 kW (170 hp). This was available with 5-speed manual or with continuously variable automatic. In addition, there was the only available for Europe 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine (2.0 CRD) with 103 kW (140 hp). This four-cylinder inline engine comes from the Volkswagen Group, corresponds to the well-known 2.0 TDI engine (previous version with pump-nozzle injection) and is fitted as standard in the Patriot with a diesel particulate filter. This engine comes with a manual six-speed transmission connected. In April 2010, the 2.0-CRD diesel engine was replaced by a 2.2 CRD (Mercedes-Benz) with 120 kW (163 hp). At the end of 2010, the Jeep Patriot was discontinued in Germany. In the US, the vehicle was still sold until the end of 2016.

For the model year 2011, the Patriot was revised. Externally only moderately modernized, but technically revised: A newly tuned suspension with other spring / damper combinations and a stronger stabilizer improve road holding and ride comfort. The interior was thoroughly modernized as in the 2011 Jeep Wrangler, upgraded with better materials. In addition, came the standard steering wheel and the new jeep entertainment system.
