The Ford Model R was a small affordable two-seat passenger car built by Ford in the United States.

History

This Model R was a higher trim level car of the Model N From 1907 The Model R. cost $750,around 50% more than the Model N, the car powered by a 4-cylinder in-line engine of 2397 cc and 15 bhp (11 kW) power. 

The wheelbase was 2134 mm. The vehicle provided with a chain drive 2 speed planetary transmission, front engine and rear wheel drive. 2-Wheel Mechanical Brakes. Front Transverse Leaf Sprung and Rear Elliptically Sprung Solid Axles.Fitted with a 8 gallon fuel tank.

Like all Ford at the beginning of the last century, the R also had a planetary gearbox for gear selection. Compared to the model N, the R had a central oil supply and running boards with larger 30 inch wheels and 3 inch tires,also full fenders oil lamps to side and rear, and a brass horn fitted. Colour options rather than black a dark Brewster Green or even a Carmine red.

The end of 1908 and this car was replaced by the Model T ,with 7000 cars made before production ended .
