The Eagle Vision was offered by the US automotive brand Eagle from early 1992 to the end of 1997 .

History

The vision was a sedan based on the Chrysler Group's LH platform and was closely related to the Chrysler Concorde , New Yorker and LHS models as well as the Dodge Intrepid . There was no Plymouth variant. From the models Dodge Intrepid and Chrysler Concorde the vision differed only in details, as for example by the wedge-shaped design of the front part. In Europe , the Eagle Vision - as well as the Dodge Caravan - was offered under the name Chrysler.

The vision was introduced in early 1992 at the Detroit Motor Show. The design followed the Chrysler propagated cab forward philosophy and had a long wheelbase, relatively short overhangs, and a far reaching forward passenger cabin with a correspondingly short bonnet.

Offered were the versions ESi with 3.3-liter V6 (114 kW / 155 hp) and TSi with 3.5-liter V6 (160 kW / 218 hp) with 24 valves, each in conjunction with a four-speed automatic transmission. The Vision ESi offered firmer suspension, ABS, a leather steering wheel and 16-inch aluminum rims .

The TSi model featured leather-trimmed seats, driver and front passenger, power seats with center rear armrest, and personal reading lamps.

In autumn 1993, the performance of the 3.3-liter was increased to 120 kW (163 hp) and revised the automatic transmission with regard to smoother shifting .

For the model year 1997, the base model ESi received at the rear drum instead of the previously used disc brakes.

The Eagle brand was completely discontinued in the spring of 1998. The already finished successor was then offered as Chrysler 300M . A total of 94,000 copies of the Eagle Vision were produced.
