History
As Dodge D22 series , this model was built from September 1941 until the cessation of civil production in February 1942. In 1946, the Custom, along with its sister model Deluxe, was the first Dodge after World War II . Only in the middle of the model year 1949 he was replaced by the series Dodge Coronet .
The cars were produced by Dodge after the Second World War. The pre-war constructions were essentially adopted. Only the grille was changed a bit and showed only a chrome lattice pattern. The 3.8-liter engine made only 102 bhp (75 kW) and both the 2-door Brougham and the Pullman sedan were no longer available. In the middle of the model year in January 1949 then replaced the model series Coronet the Custom.
In the short model year 1942, the Custom, as well as its sister model Deluxe, received a larger engine with 3772 cc displacement and a power of 105 bhp (77 kW) at 3600 / min. The front of the vehicle was also modified: The grille consisted of seven chrome-plated crossbars, which extended between the main headlights.
