SpyderCars Limited , previously Spyder Sports Limited , a British manufacturer company in kit car type automobiles . The brand name was Spyder.

History

Samuel Victor Moore and Clifford Geoffrey Price founded the company Spydersport Limited in 1970 in Whittlesey,Cambridgeshire . From the 1980s they started with the production of automobiles and kits. In total, about 635 copies were made. The company still operates as Spyder Cars Limited , provides replacement chassis and suspension components for Lotus Elan and Europa.

The Silverstone was inspired by the Lotus Seven . The base was a tubular frame that was almost a semi-monocoque . Parts of the open two-seater body were made of fiberglass and steel . Various four-cylinder engines , which came mainly from Ford such as the pinto engine and also Toyota and Saab engines used, powered the vehicles. Between 1985 and 1989, about 40 copies were produced.

The Donington Conversion was similar to the Lotus Éclat . A self-made chassis provided the basis. A 3.5L or bigger V8 engine from Rover fitted to the vehicles. From 1991 to 1992 created about twelve copies.
