The Ideal Shop was a small US-American manufacture for the production of automobiles of the brand Ideal .

History

The company existed only in 1914 and was based in Buffalo , New York . A prototype has been successfully tested. How many vehicles were actually built after that is unknown but Build your own kits avaliable for sale.  It was found that the demand for such vehicles that began rapidly in the US in 1912, just as suddenly subsided.

The vehicles had a two-cylinder engine from Spacke . 88.9 mm bore and 93.218 mm stroke gave 1157 cc displacement . The engine output of 13 bhp (9.7 kW) was transmitted to the rear axle via a two-speed planetary gearbox and belt drive . The wheelbase was 76 inches (1390 mm), the gauge 36 inches (91 mm). Three versions were offered: single-seater, two-seater with tandem seats sitting one behind the other or two-seater with two seats next to each other.. 

There were several US manufacturers of passenger cars of the brand Ideal: Ideal Automobile Manufacturing Company , Richmond & Holmes Company , B. & P. Company , Ideal Motor Vehicle Company , Ideal runabout Manufacturing Company , Bethlehem Automobile Company , Ideal Electric Vehicle Company , Ideal Shop and Bethlehem Motor Truck Company .
