Commonwealth Custom Coach Builders Ltd. was an American manufacturer of sports automobiles in the 1980s .
The company was founded on March 19, 1979 in Lake Grove New York 1980 began the production of automobiles. The brand name was Commonwealth 1983 ended production. In total, as few as four vehicles were created.
The only model AR-1 was a sports car . It resembled the Fiberfab Avenger of Fiberfab Inc. The coupe had a plastic fiberglass body with steel box chassis and could accommodate two people. A modified V6 engine from Chevrolet propelled the vehicles. The five-speed gearbox came from ZF 15" mag wheels and quick rack steering and 4 wheel disc brakes also fitted .
