JC Bartlett ran several workshops in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . In 1915 he started producing automobiles. The order for 100 vehicles came from the Electric Taxicab Company in New York City . In the same year the production ended. It is unclear whether 100 vehicles were actually completed.
The model was the Bartlett Regenerator Electric . A gasoline engine from Diehl charged the batteries while an electric motor powered the vehicles. The chassis was designed by FG Peck, who previously worked for Buffalo Electric .
The Blue Ribbon Auto & Carriage Company from New York City made the bodies. They were limousines that did not look like electric cars . The front hood resembled the hoods of contemporary Renault models.
