Astro Designs Coach Builders was an American manufacturer of kit car and replica automobiles .
History
The company was based in Canoga Park , California . It made automobiles and kit cars . The brand name was Astro Designs . About 1990 ended production.
Initially, vehicles were built according to kits of California Component Cars , Thoroughbred Coach Builders and Roaring Twenties Motor Car Company . These included the sterling , the British Nova corresponded, as well as a replica of the Mercedes-Benz 540 K .
Ray Garrish designed the first own model Garrish Countach . The body resembled the Lamborghini Countach , but was based on the Sterling of California Component Cars. On a tubular steel frame, a plastic body was mounted. A V8 engine from the Cadillac Eldorado propelled the vehicles.
