The Origin is a mid sized car built first in 2000 by Toyota imagined a car model in retro design . The model was marketed exclusively in Japan from Japanese dealerships built at the Higashi Fuji plant Price new was: ¥ 7,000,000. On import routes, however, only a few copies have made it to Hong Kong .
The model was developed on the basis of a common platform of the models Toyota Brevis , Lexus IS and Toyota Progrès .
The goal was to create a model reminiscent of the 1955 Toyopet Crown RS with the inline-six engine . The design has been largely retained and adapted to the contemporary style with suicide doors.
How many copies of the Origin was to be 1,000 units of the car would be available, in total 1,073 built untill 2001.
