The SS 2 is a model of the automaker SS Cars Ltd . He was released in 1931 simultaneously with the SS 1 -six-cylinder models.

The SS 2 had a 9 HP engine, which was as well as the six-cylinder supplied by the Standard Motor Company . It was a four-cylinder in-line engine with 1,004 cc and 28 bhp from the standard Little Nine, car body as a coupe - a shortened version of the SS 1. The vehicle reached a top speed of 95 km / h.

From October 1933, the SS 2 was heavily revised and received, similar to a year before the SS 1, a larger body. There were now two four-cylinder in-line engines to choose from, namely the 10 HP from the Standard Ten with 1,343 cc and 32 bhp and 12 HP from the standard Twelve with 1,608 cc and 38 bhp. The maximum speed of these cars was about 105 km / h. This revised SS 2 was available as a two-door Tourer (open four-seater), as a two-door coupe and as a two-door, differing from the coupe only through the rear side windows, sedan.

When the 1936 series was discontinued, a total of about 1,790 vehicles had been manufactured. Successor was the SS Jaguar 1 ½ liter .
