The SEAT Concept T Coupé and the SEAT Concept T Cabrio are two prototypes that were presented by the Spanish car manufacturer SEAT in 1992 and 1993 respectively. They were designed by the SEAT Prototype Center in Spain (under the direction of Patrick Ayoub), with a format similar to the previous prototypes designed in Italdesign Giugiaro, the SEAT Proto T and SEAT Proto TL, which gave rise to the first generation of the SEAT Toledo.
History Project
These two prototypes were part of a new development project to expand the Toledo range with new variants, Coupe and convertible, because it all started at the end of 1989 after 3 years of progress with the S3 Project, the new SEAT Toledo model was practically very advanced although many studies and projects affecting the model were still in phase, since it was practically 2 years to launch it to the market.
It was intended to develop a sports version with G60 or VR6 engines with Syncro all-wheel drive, so pre-series experimental prototypes would be used for testing but that version would be discarded, so these advances would serve as development to create the new variants " SEAT Concept T ", in prototype format since these equip a V6 engine, with a more sporty body, and that showed an advance of what could have been the basis of the SEAT Toledo coupe and convertible, because in the late 80s and At the beginning of the 90s, having this type of vehicle gave brands an image, at the time within the Vw group there was the Volkswagen Corrado and the Audi 80 Coupe S2, and other brands such as Opel with the caliber, opened their main rivals, but the street variants planned for late 1994 were never manufactured, they were finally discarded.
